Comprehensive Rehabilitation program
Our professionally licensed therapists evaluate and establish treatment programs that assist and encourage each resident to reach the maximum level of independence possible. We aim to improve strength, activity tolerance, flexibility, balance, safety with functional mobility, moving in their environmen, and pain reduction.
Occupational Therapy
Our Occupational Therapy assists residents in regaining skills of everyday activities and to assess for less restrictive adaptive device for ambulation
To assist clients in regaining the strength, mobility, function, cognition, safety awareness needed to complete activities of everyday living including
Community mobility evaluation and proper fitting of wheelchairs and other medical devices to assist client in exploring their environment as independently and safely as possible.

Social services, mental health services, volunteers and recreational staff are available to provide supportive services during all stages of adjustment. Nursing services are administered 24-7 by a team of professionally trained and certified nurses and other caregivers experienced in meeting the healthcare needs of our residents.

Rehab Program (CORE)
CORE (Centers for Orthopedic Rehabilitation Excellence) is a program specifically designed for orthopedic patients who do not qualify for an inpatient rehabilitation stay, but are not functionally ready to return home. Ideal candidates would be patients with total hip or knee replacements or fractures of the hip.
Treatment Goals:
Maximize independence in activities of daily living (dressing, bathing, etc.)
Achieve safe mobility with or without assistive devices (e.g., walkers, crutches)
Educate on injury prevention and available resources
Strengthening exercises
Training in mobility and wheelchair positioning
Incision care
Medication management
Joint protection/fall prevention strategies
Pain Management
Community safety tips and suggested home modifications
Training in self-care activities and use of assistive devices
Instruction in home exercise program
Patient/family education on available community resources
Discharge planning

Therapy is delivered at the same level of intensity as an inpatient rehabilitation program for maximum results. Treatment plans are developed based on individual needs and coordinated by a team of healthcare professionals specially trained in orthopedic rehabilitation protocols, including nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and case coordinator. Comprehensive rehabilitation focuses on achieving optimal functional outcomes while education the patient and family. Certified CORE facilities have met strict standards in quality of patient care. Regular communication is maintained with all referring physicians.
The Team
Our interdisciplinary medical team is led by Medical Director Dr. Sabine von Pryse-Friedman, M.D., a nationally recognized physician in the area of Gerontology and Geriatrics. Dr. von Pryse-Friedman is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington and a certified medical director for long term care. Dr. Von Pryse is the 2011 medical director of the year recipient due other excellence in providing patient care and support.
